2021–24Yujie enjoys wandering through cities, exploring the tension and order of spaces through photography and sculpture. Her project Ownership comprises two parts: one part photographed in her hometown in China and the other in London, examining the challenges to urban spatial rights posed by the privatization of public spaces due to human intervention. The differing behaviors and reactions within the two countries and social systems are particularly intriguing.Through this cross-national observation and reflection, Yujie hopes to draw attention to the various forms and impacts of the privatization of public spaces.
