2024Oyster & Hamster Cage is Yike Cen’s degree project from her postgraduate study at the Royal College of Art. This graphic novel is a metaphorical account of a girl’s long and painful process of self-healing after a bad sexual initiation. In this work, she uses the hamster as a metaphor for a naïve child, and borrows Shakespeare’s famous line ‘The World Is Your Oyster’ as a clue to the conflict between human nature and the shackles of the mind. Through this work, she hopes to call on people to face up to the self-exploration of the body, and to rethink the mode of education and family relationships under the East Asian social system.
《牡蛎与仓鼠笼》是作者岑亦可在英国皇家艺术学院的毕业作品。这本图像小说通过隐喻的方式，讲述了一个女孩在经历了糟糕的性启蒙之后漫长而痛苦的自我疗愈过程。在作品中，作者用仓鼠来比喻天真的孩子，并借用莎士比亚的名句 “The World Is Your Oyster”作为线索，讨论人性本能与思想枷锁之间的冲突。她希望通过这部作品呼吁人们正视对身体的自我探索，并反思东亚社会制度下的教育模式和家庭关系。
