Is ‘local food’ an illusion? English tea, fish and chips, Worcestershire sauce… These traditional foods, now localised, have origins and supply chains that cross the world. The dichotomy between the global and the local has become a paradox, as the concept of locality is no longer defined solely by physical distance. Tracing the origins of food has grown increasingly complex, making the lines ever more blurred.
In this workshop, we will explore, deconstruct, and redefine the concept of ‘local food’ through the creation of a food zine. Participants will design their own ‘local food measurements’, reflecting on the nonlinear expansion of the food system.

本地食物是一种幻觉吗?英式红茶、炸鱼薯条、伍斯特郡酱油……这些已经本地化的传统食物却有着跨地域的起源与供应链条。全球和本地的对立成为一种悖论,地域的概念不再仅由物理距离来定义。溯源的线索愈发错综复杂、便得模糊。
在这个工作坊里,我们将通过食物小志的制作重新理解、拆解、定义“什么是本地食物”,并设计出自己理解中的“本地食物量尺”,以此回顾食品系统中的非线性扩张。
