This is a workbook about practicing layout within a predefined grid. In this 30-day visual diary, I picked up the most common materials around me—ledger forms and acrylic pens—and experimented with different fonts and visual tensions through hand-drawing to document the sights and sounds of each day. As I became more deliberate in arranging the elements, I noticed that their relationships were much like those between people—there is always a give and take, and only by carefully managing space and distance can harmony be achieved.
