Banquets and recipes are one of Golden Rose’s creative methods—through local life, observation, research, and hearsay, she collects a mix of images, texts, archives, and notes, then ‘collages’ them into recipes. The art of this collage lies in its seamlessness and spontaneity. The shifting of people, time, and space; the drifting of communities; the imagery of places; individual desires; adaptive life skills—all reemerge through these ‘collaged’ recipes. There is also the decay over time, as places are submerged in the tides of history but continue to exist in a different way.
